I’m kind of glad the week’s almost over and that I ran out
of time to go to the gym today; I am so worn out from trying to get back into
the swing of a normal exercise routine after the gross amount of back-sliding
that happened over the holidays in terms of my health and fitness due to all
the mashed potato and candy-eating and I don’t think I could have done one more
day.
I really overdid it; my body hurts
in places that I don’t recall trying to recondition.
That one and a half hours of gym time this week really knocked
me out. I mean, even the scheduled nap
at the end of yoga felt extra strenuous the one day I did it.
On another note, hooray for stretchy pants.

How quickly our fitness levels go out the window!
ReplyDeleteI'm also trying to get back into my fitness routine, unfortunately my annual holiday cold has taken a stronghold in my chest and has me winded and coughing.
Here is to stretchy pants and good intentions!
Being sick over the holidays is the best excuse for avoiding exercise.
DeleteIt should take at least the same amount of time to become fit as it does to lose fitness. Sigh.
I and my stretchy pants agree that napping can indeed be strenuous at this time of year. We suggest exercising (ha ha) extreme caution. ;)
ReplyDeleteHa ha. :)
DeleteI have decided that the new year doesn't begin until Monday when my kids are back in school. That was my justification for opening the last bottle of prosecco at 4:30 yesterday and watching Weeds for the next couple of hours. I'm like a kid with my fingers in my ears: "The holidays are NOT over! Lalalala I can't HEAR you!"
ReplyDeleteWeeds and Prosecco are completely appropriate for a post-holiday holiday.
DeleteMy mom's side of the family got together at my mom's house, and every one brought a load of desserts and then refused to take any food back home. It's the meanest thing anyone has ever done to me. I'm pretty sure I'm 60% cake right now. I'm never going to work it off.
ReplyDeleteI love it when cake shows up to party. It's so good, except when it takes up permanent residence on my body. It wears out its welcome fast, doesn't it?
